Hoya cv Viola
Hoya cv Viola is a trailing plant. It has fascinating lustrous leaves and produces sweet scented flowers. Hoya Viola is produced of combining two Hoyas such as; Hoya Deykeae and Hoya Vitelina.
Like other Hoyas, Hoya Viola blooms from spurs. I did not see the actual flowers yet however, soon. I just hope that Viola will like under my care. By the way, Hoya Viola is my newest Hoya plant.
According to my research, Viola loves bright but indirect light. At this time, I put her on direct grow light like other Hoyas I have in my collection. So far, the plant stayed with her original soil. I see that the soil has well draining mix in it thus I have to water her every three days and check often to make sure that she will not be dried for so long.
Hoya Viola may have yellowing leaves, like other Hoyas, yellowing leaves is a sign of too much water. If it happens try to change the soil or mix it with other medium such as; perlite, coco-husk, vermiculite etc. that can help so that the soil will not be compacted and will drain smoothly and dry quickly.
Even though, I just brought the plant a week ago, I already propagate, this is just to make sure in case something happen to the plant.
So far the cuttings are placed on the water, I will update soon as roots are started to come out.

Hoya Odorata
Hoya Odorata is one of my newest Hoya in my collection. She came from Thailand, so basically this hoya is still stress from travelling but this hoya is doing fine. I received 55 Hoya plants dated August 18, 2021, this Hoya Odorata is one of them.
Hoya Odorata is came from Apocynaceae family. It really surprised me that this hoya is came from my native country the Philippines. Honestly, I did not see this plant in my hometown probably in the other province.
This hoya has tough leaves or shall we say rigid leaves when we touch, they said it is very easy to grow. Let see, though. Most Hoyas they said are easy to grow but in reality it really depends on the plants if they like to grow or not, I feel that they are like human beings sometimes hard headed, hahaha.
Since hoya odorata is new to me, I did not see the actual flower but according to my research this hoya have fragrant flowers like most Hoyas.
Taking care of Hoya odorata will be based also on the other hoyas the way I care them. Will update soon as it blooms.
Unboxing Variegated African Violet
African Violet is one of my favorite houseplants but due to have less space, I just have one African Violet. While searching online, I found a post concerning Variegated African Violet. I got so excited and hoping to have this type o plants in my collection. However, the online shopping is in Florida and the cost of shipping is more expensive. so, I decided to just let it go.
I still continue searching if I will find somewhere here in Canada and yes I found the Facebook page just for Variegated African Violet. If I remember exactly my first order was on May. I made a video while unboxing but was deleted accidentally.
In the above video was my second order that was on August as my personal gift for myself. I was so excited receiving my Variegated African Violet and I make sure I don't delete them yet some of the chips were deleted.
The leaf cuttings I received on this order and in my first order were all rotten. Totally doesn't know how to propagate the leaf cuttings. The rest of the babies, they are thriving!!!
I will make an update about Variegated African Violet soon.

Monstera Standleyana Albo
Monstera Standleyana Albo is one of the rare and expensive plant I have in my collection. The pot is worth $799.99 plus tax which comes to $920. When I picked up this plant at the nursery it was not in a good shape, most of the vines were broken and leaves were so dehydrated. I had to cut the vines and soaked them in water and now they're growing nice and strong.
Monstera Standleyana Albo is another type of Monstera plant. The looks of the leaves shows white splashes and some are half moons meaning half green and half white. This plant is very attractive and considered rare plants in the area where I live.
This Monstera was originated from the countries namely; Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. This time it is widely imported to every corners of the world I guess. This plant is really in demand and people will buy even one single leaf is cost so much money. I supposed to buy one last October but I changed my mind. The price was $85 for one leaf and unrooted. The price is crazy right? Is it really worth it? The answer is depends on every individual. For me, it is worth it if you feel satisying and comfortable.
I bought Monstera Standleyana Albo in the middle of November and she grows beautifully as well as the cuttings and its also ready to sell.
Taking care of Monstera Standleyana Albo is not difficult, I treat this plant the same as the other Philodendron, Pothos and Scindapsus plants.
Hoya Rebecca
- stem cuttings + water propagation
- air layering - according to some people and experts that this method is 99.9% successful but I really did not try it.
- stem cuttings + direct soil propagation
- leaf cuttings - I personally not recommend this method. Although, I tried this method and it showed roots successfully but its very impossible to make a new plant.
